ENG. In August 2017, the project grew spontaneously when I witnessed the wonder that photography still managed to evoke in the inhabitants. This positive reaction revealed the power of the image as a means of connection and reflection. I then set out to give back to those people something with which they could identify: an image where they could find, see, or revisit themselves, much like in a mirror. In this sense, large-format images were exhibited on the streets of the Island, in the same locations where they were taken in 2014. The project's aim was for the photographs to become part of the island's daily life and gradually deteriorate over time, thus reflecting the transformations of the place itself. The outcome was very gratifying and well received by the inhabitants, and seeing their reactions brought me great satisfaction.

ESSA REAÇÃO POSITIVA REVELOU O PODER DA IMAGEM COMO MEIO DE CONEXÃC E REFLEXÃO. PROPUS-ME ENTÃO RETRIBUIR ÀQUELAS PESSOAS ALGO COM O QUAL ELAS SE PUDESSEM IDENTIFICAR: UMA IMAGEM ONDE PODERIAM ENCONTRAR-SE, VER-SE OU REVER-SE, TAL COMO NUM ESPELHO. NESSE SENTIDO, FORAM EXPOSTAS NAS RUAS DA ILHA IMAGENS EM GRANDE FORMATO, NO MESMO LOCAL ONDE FORAM TIRADAS EM 2014. O OBJETIVO DO PROJETO ERA QUE AS FOTOGRAFIAS PASSASSEM A FAZER PARTE DO QUOTIDIANO DA ILHA E FOSSEM DETERIORANDO COM O PASSAR DO TEMPO, ASSIM REFLETINDO AS TRANSFORMAÇÕES DO PRÓPRIO LUGAR. O RESULTADO FOI MUITO GRATIFICANTE E BEM RECEBIDO PELOS HABITANTES, E VER AS SUAS REAÇÕES TROUXE-ME UMA GRANDE SATISFACÃO.
